Margelisch was founded in 2010 in Bern, Switzerland by Reinhard Margelisch. Margelisch's production facility in India is run by two brothers with 70 employees. The designer Reinhard Margelisch spends 5-6 weeks a year in Calcutta developing collection samples and implementing work processes. Accordingly, production standards are directly influenced. The SEDEX social audit confirms Margelisch's efforts. The bags and backpacks are sewn by hand , so even small leftover pieces of leather or canvas can be reused.
